Description:
Prerequisites: CIS 102 and CIS 103 (or concurrent enrollment in CIS 103) Out-of-class computer work required. This course will cover the setup and configuration of wireless hardware and the operational concepts of wireless local area networks (WLAN). Elements of 802.11 wireless standards and the OSI reference model will be discussed and utilized. Access point (AP) and bridge configurations will be applied as an integral part of WLAN maintenance and troubleshooting. Site survey principles and requirements will be applied in the design of an effective wireless network. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) students can apply course to additional Cisco certification(s).
