Out-of-class computer work required. An introduction to the common graphical interface program for personal computers. Emphasis will be placed on file management (creating, saving, and backing up files and folders). There will also be a brief look at personal computer fundamentals as they relate to the Windows environment. The hardware requirements for running Windows will be discussed. Practical instruction in working in this environment will include how to use a mouse, how to work with and modify windows, using drop-down menus, running multiple applications simultaneously, and transferring data between applications.
