Out-of-class work required. This course is an introduction to the many possible applications of tile and the various approaches and techniques used. Craftsmanship and creative and technical skills will be covered. Relief carving, press molds, special tools, techniques of surface decoration, and glaze application will be covered. A strong emphasis will be placed on design and conceptual techniques.
