Offered: F, Sp, Su. Reading Skills Improvement is designed for students who need to improve their understanding of written expression. The focus of the course is on higher-level comprehension and vocabulary skills. Students use a weekly news magazine to apply and practice skills learned in the class and to provide a background for written assignments. Beginning the Fall 2004 semester, this course is required for all students who score less than 72 on the Accuplacer Reading Test.
