The depiction and participation of women in American art had changed drastically over the 20th century. Through discourse, critique, comparison and readings this course will discuss the complexities of the role women have played in the making of art as well as conceptual identities of "femaleness" in 20th century American art. Course Information: This course fulfills an Engaged Citizenship Common Experience requirement at UIS in the area of U.S. Communities or ECCE Elective.
