An introduction to the process of conducting a mental health assessment culminating in the formulation of a DSM-IV diagnosis. Crucial components will be considered, including physiological disorders contributing to psychological symptomology, dual diagnosis complications, family relationship issues, social stressors, psychopathology, and cultural issues. Emphasis will be placed on intervention strategies and development of critical thinking and case conceptualization skills.
