Attention will be given to gender, class and sexuality, as well as race ethnicity, and religion. The critical and creative readings help frame the questions ¿what is American¿ and ¿what is a novel?¿ Course Information: This course fulfills an Engaged Citizenship Common Experience requirement at UIS in the area of U.S. Communities or ECCE Elective.
