Examines dimension of color in art from an historical perspective. Traces evolution of color theory and practice from early Renaissance to the present. Includes lectures with slide presentations and demonstrations directed toward obtaining consistent and controlled color effects. Also involves hands-on work with acrylic paints. Areas of study include theories of color harmony and contrast, color mixing and composition. (4 studio hrs. each week.) Offered on: E / 3 cr. hrs.
