The course is fundamental in helping the serious music industry student understand the construction and development process involved with today's popular song. Students will gain a sufficient background in values to work in a variety of environments and ever-changing situations of artistic demands. By studying the well-known masterpieces of the songwriter's art, students will develop the analytical skills necessary to recognize and talk about quality elements in musical and lyrical structure.Credit, three hours.
