Description:
A study of the methods and materials used in teaching high school mathematics. The course introduces current educational theory and research methodologies. Topics include national & state standards, effective teaching strategies, lesson plans, technology in the classroom, diversity & equity, assessment, classroom management, professionalism, and current issues and trends. Includes 20 FE hours. This course should be taken the semester before EDUC 400 Pre-Service/ Student Teaching. Prerequisites: Admission into the Teacher Education Program (TEP), MTSC 402with a "C" or better, and consent from the instructor. Credit, three hours.
