Description:
A course designed to prepare teachers in geometry. Topics include: axiomatic systems, methods of proof, formal synthetic Euclidean geometry, measurement, transformations, introduction to non-Euclidean geometries, and geometry within art and nature. Course emphasis will additionally be placed upon geometry education, problem-solving heuristic, and pedagogy. Prerequisites: MTSC 122 or MTSC 131 with a "C" or better. Credit, three hours.
