The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to computers and information processing for students desiring to learn what a computer is, how it functions, how it is applied to the solution of business and related problems in a modern society, and the future trends in computer applications. A hands-on approach will be employed with commercially available microcomputer software packages for word processing, electronic spreadsheets, database management, graphical presentations, and web design methods using HTML. Computer career opportunities will also be discussed.Credit, three hours.
