This is an accelerated honors course for beginners, which is designed to develop aural, oral, reading, and comprehension. Laboratory is required to enhance listening and speaking proficiencies. Students learn more concepts and grammatical structures not covered in the normal Italian 101 such as the preterit and the imperfect tenses of the indicative mood as well as the imperative mood. Consequently, this intensive course challenges student to become more active learners of basic Italian.Prerequisites: ITAL 101 or two (2) years of high school study.Credit, three hours.
