Description:
Examines current trends used in teaching mathematics at the elementary school level and makes use of current research on teaching special student populations, students of diverse backgrounds, and students with different learning styles in developing relevant teaching strategies. Emphasis is placed on examination of teaching materials (especially textbooks, audio-visual aids, and computer software) and techniques of computer-assisted instruction. Early field experience is required (10 hours).Prerequisites: EDUC 204, EDUC 105, EDUC 106. Admission to Teacher Education is required.Credit, three hours.
