An advanced course focusing on the biotechnical aspects of molecular biology. Topics include: recent advances in cloning, PCR, DNA sequencing, genetic engineering using recombinant plasmids, and the isolation and screening of genomic libraries. The laboratory portion will focus on DNA manipulation techniques. Three (3) lecture hours and three (3) hours of lab each week.Prerequisites: BIOL 310, CHEM 403 or BIOL 422.Credit, four hours.
