The course is a hands-on lab that will introduce students to the biological and laboratory aspects of forensic and investigative science including blood typing, DNA extraction and fingerprinting, hair and fiber analysis, time of death determination, the use of the microscope, and drug/alcohol and toxicology testing. Labs include DNA fingerprinting, hair and fiber analysis, blood and saliva testing, and human bone and muscle identification. Cannot be used as an elective for Biology majors.Prerequisites: BIOL 102, BIOL 210, BIOL 225.Credit, three hours.
