A study of humanism from the Proto-Renaissance up to the birth of the Modern Art Movement. Students will examine the development of visual art forms with an emphasis on drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture, architecture, crafts, and the preservation of art. The content area of study will include the role of religion, politics, and societal change and its affect on art. Students will know and be able to recognize the differences between the following aspects of art: the illustrative, the decorative, and the expressive.Credit, three hours.
