FINC 421 and MATH 270 or MATH 340 or MATH 370; or consent of instructorThis course provides an introduction to security analysis including financial statement analysis, the impact of economic forces on industries, industry analysis, and company valuation. Students will acquire tools for both the fundamental an stochastic analysis of securities risk. The analysis of fixed income securities includes credit worthiness, duration, and risk assessment. Technical analysis will be reviewed. Major portion of the course will be devoted to estimating expected returns and modern portfolio theory.
