Prerequisite: SPED 510 with a minimum grade of B; or SPED 202 with a minimum grade of B; or SPED 211 with a minimum grade of B or consent of the graduate program coordinator This course will develop the professional skills of teachers of students with moderate special education needs in the areas of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development, progress monitoring/RTI, Massachusetts curriculum frameworks, existing state and federal laws, working in inclusion settings with general educators, supervising paraprofessionals and working with parents and community agencies. Field experiences will be included.
