Prerequisite: MATH 110 or ECON 210; and MGMT 506 or MGMT 200 and ACFI 305; and ACFI 505 or ACFI 240 and ACFI 241 and ACFI 385 Students study the technology, systems, and processes that allow organizations to manage information and knowledge as valuable resources. Topics include the conceptualization of data, including data structures, data modeling, data administration and the selection of a database environment. The role of information systems in both the routine conduct of business and long-term strategic planning provide a special emphasis.
