A lab-oriented course designed to teach students the theory and techniques involved in preparing tissue for histological evaluation and study. Discussions and lab exercises are designed to teach the chemical basis and physical principles of fixation, processing, and staining animal tissue specimans for light microscopy. The focus will be on routine paraffin techniques, but will include frozen section techniques, immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. Prerequisite- Corequisite Prerequisite: CLT 200 Introduction to Histological Techniques.
