The study of African American art from the late 18th century to the present, concentrating on the 20th century. Students will examine the development of African American art through analysis of the works, examination of political and social influences, and study of artists' biographies. Students will also participate in research projects, which will include writing and/or other application of knowledge. 3-0-3
