Course will introduce students to the Retailing specialty area of the Business Mgt. Tech. Associate Degree curriculum. The student will be exposed to the areas of Strategic Planning; Environmental, Legal, Economic, Social, and Technological factors; Competition; Consumers and Their Lifestyles; Resource Management; Positioning; Evaluation of Competition; and Retailing Issues and Outlook. This course sets the stage for additional, more specialized courses in Advertising, Visual Merchandising, Buying and Inventory Control, and Store Design and Layout Credit Hours: 4 Repeat/Retake Information: May be retaken an unlimited number of times, but only last course taken counts. Note: Effective Summer Quarter 2010-11 (June 2011) any non-repeatable course may be retaken two times excluding withdrawals, but only last course taken counts.
