This course examines how the "War on Drugs" has affected Latin America. It places the recent efforts at drug interdiction in the context of the history of drug production, consumption and trade and uses readings from the fields of sociology, economics, political science, and public policy to illuminate the challenges this war, presents for Latin America societies and U.S.-Latin American relations.
