Introduction to planning, design, and operation of transportation systems. Concepts of human factors and vehicle characteristics in design. Topics include traffic stream variables and their measurement techniques, basic traffic flow models, highway and street intersection capacity and level of service, traffic control concepts, and transportation systems management. Application of statistical analysis on transportation problems. Additional course fee is required. Prerequisites: ENGM 210 Statics and Dynamics and ENGC 320 Engineering Surveying.
