Detailed look at characteristics of autism spectrum disorders (including Asperger's Syndrome, PDD-NOS and Autism). Issues related to diagnosis/assessment, early intervention, school-based intervention, functional therapeutic techniques and theories, and current "hot topics" in Autism (Theory of Mind, joint attention, biomedical issues, dietary restrictions, sensory regulation and intervention paradigms) will be a part of this course. Prerequisite: SPHP 112, SPHP 125. Graded: Graded Student. Units: 2.0
