Theoretical basis for the nursing care of individuals who require nursing intervention to achieve and maintain mental health through adaptive processes. The course includes a supervised practicum which incorporates therapeutic modalities. A variety of psychodynamic theories related to anxiety, interpersonal relationships, crisis intervention, and group process are discussed. Prerequisite: Microbiology with a lab, Physiology with a lab, and California licensure as a Vocational Nurse. Corequisite: Nurs 123. Graded: Graded Student. Units: 4.0
