Academic Reading and Writing for Second Language Students. Helps prospective teachers to better understand the unique needs of second language students. Covers second language acquisition theory with particular emphasis on the teaching of reading and writing for academic purposes. Practical skills covered will all focus on the particular needs of second language readers and writers, for instance, how to help them to read more efficiently and with greater comprehension, how to write more fluently and accurately in ways that meet the needs and expectations of the academic discourse community.
