Psychological, Social, and Medical Aspects of Disability. Psychological, social, and medical aspects of various congenital, hereditary, and trauma-induced disabilities are studied in-depth, particularly their relationship to vocational adjustment. The etiology, treatment, prognosis, and limitations caused by various disabling medical conditions are covered as well as such factors as depression, denial and dependency as they occur or are related to these disabling conditions. Emphasis is also given to the concepts of motivation, self-concept, and personal and societal attitudes toward disability. Prerequisite: Approval as a candidate for the MS degree in Counseling. Graded: Graded Student. Units: 3.0
