Special attention to the following topics: 1) historical and social antecedents to today's problems; 2) profiles and motivations of contemporary terrorists; 3) characteristics of active terrorist groups; 4) the vulnerability of western nations to the techniques and technology of terrorism; 5) the role of the media; 6) the impact of terrorism on non governmental sectors of society; and 7) acceptable counter-terrorist policies and practices.
