Prerequisites: EDU 500 Focuses on both language arts and social studies instruction in the elementary school.& This course builds upon how teachers can deepen children’s understanding of reading and writing, to support and engage children in using reading and writing in the content areas.& The course examines current research, methods, strategies and best practices.& Course readings will aid in the development of materials and provide scaffolding for the designing of curriculum units.
