Prerequisites: ARH 101, 102, 125, or permission of instructor An exploration the art and architecture of European middle ages, approximately 200-1400 C.E. The course will concentrate on modes of visual representation that transformed the values of the preceding Hellenistic and Roman classicism in order to emphasize a spiritual order.& The goal of the course is to provide students with an analytical framework that permits them to develop a more profound and independent understanding of the subject.&
