Required 2nd year course This course provides undergraduate medical students with fundamental principles of drug action and disposition. Learning objectives include mechanisms of action, adverse effects, disposition (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion), and therapeutic uses. This course is designed to provide students with the foundation necessary for rational and intelligent decisions regarding drug selection and therapeutic use. Clinical therapeutics is reinforced through frequent small group problem-solving cases.
