Examines thermodynamics, kinetics, and quantum mechanics with applications to physical and chemical properties of matter. Fall semester. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 3 hours. Prerequisites: CHEM 3210 with a minimum grade of C or ENGR 1850, CHEM 3010 and CHEM 3010L with minimum grades of C; MATH 1920 and MATH 1921 or department head approval. Pre- or Corequisite: PHYS 1040 and PHYS 1040L or PHYS 2310 and PHYS 2310L. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed.
