An exploration of life’s basic unit: morphological and chemical organization of cells, cell biochemistry, life cycles, cellular reproduction and cell regulation, bioenergetics, cellular respiration, photosynthesis, cell molecular genetics, cell signaling and communication, cancer; immune response. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 2 hours. Prerequisites: BIOL 3250, CHEM 3020/CHEM 3020L or department head approval. Laboratory/studio course fee will be assessed. Corequisite: BIOL 4280L.
