Principles of classical (Mendelian), molecular, and population genetics including patterns of inheritance, genetic code and regulation of protein synthesis, recombinant DNA techniques, and evolution of the genome at the population and molecular levels. Prerequisites: BIOL 1120 with a minimum grade of C, CHEM 1120/CHEM 1120L or equivalent or department head approval. Corequisite (Molecular Concentration majors only): BIOL 3260.
