Using the nursing process, students assess human needs, alterations in human needs, and nursing interventions necessary to meet these needs. The student is introduced to the role of provider of care, manager of care, and member of the discipline of nursing. The course utilizes experiences in the clinical facilities to address nursing care of clients in acute care settings. This course may require some basic computer skills and CE6. The instructor will demonstrate CE6 in class, if used. *Nursing Mobility Exam (as required); an active and clear (without discipline) Florida certificate or license as a Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Cardiovascular Technician (RCVT), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is required. Paramedics, RRTs, and RCVTs must be Florida certified nursing assistants.
