Introduction to use and interpretation of 1:24,000 USGS topographic maps. Topics covered include: determination and calculation of scale, map coordinate systems, projections, and locating features using the General Land Office Survey System. Local landforms will be interpreted from aerial photography at a variety of scales and correlated with map interpretations. Land use and cover will be determined using both back & white and color infrared photography. Pre- or co-requisite: MATH102 or higher. (1,3) 2
