Minimum of 100 hours of volunteer assistance in a hospital to experience working with children and/or adolescents and to gain awareness of the role of the Child Life Specialist (required of child life concentration). Or minimum of 100 hours of volunteer assistance in community service agency to experience working with children and/or adolescents to gain awareness of the role of the helping professional (required of child studies concentration). Written work and evaluations. Prerequisites: Child Studies concentration PSY 321, Child Life Specialist PCL 271. Must be registered for PCL 272 for upcoming fall semester.
