Prerequisite: MATH 101 or 121. The history and application of cryptography. Topics include private-key codes, the ENIGMA machine and other WWII codes, public-key codes, and the RSA system. Appropriate mathematics is introduced, as necessary, to understand the construction and use of these codes.
