Prerequisites: Completion of FW requirement. A selected topic focusing on a particular author, genre, motif or period in translation. The specific topic is determined by the interests of the individual instructor. May be repeated for degree credit with permission and if the topics are different. Topic for Winter 2011: LIT 295: Topics in Romance Language:Female Protagonists in Romance Literatures (3). Meets the humanities distribution requirement in the women’s and gender studies minor. This course takes a comparative look at the representation of women in different literary works of prose and drama from France, Italy, and the Hispanic world. The texts are in English, though students are encouraged to also look at original versions, depending on their various language skills in the respective languages. (HL) Radulescu.
