Prerequisites: JOUR 253, or permission of the instructor, and junior standing. The principles and techniques of editing copy and producing publications for the print media and the World Wide Web, with emphasis on clarity of thought, legal and moral responsibilities, and effective communication. Extensive laboratory work. Attention is given to the latest computer-based production and editing applications, as students participate in producing prototype newspaper pages, the Rockbridge Report cablecast and website.
