Prerequisite: First-year standing. Topic for Fall 2010: HIST 180: FS: The Civil Rights Movement, Brown to Bakke (3). First-year seminar. This course surveys the Civil Rights movement in the United States from 1954 to 1978, It exposes first-year students to the major civil rights issues and demonstrates the problems of this period through examination of selected manuscript documents, and assigned readings of selected primary and secondary literature pertaining to this period.
