Prerequisite: Three credits in 200-level English. An examination of British literature written between 1740 and 1800. Thematic or generic focus varies from year to year. In a given term, the course focuses on either one or two genres or subgenres (e.g., sentimental novels, travel writing, odes and elegies) or a topic addressed in a variety of genres.
