Students work in fundamentals fluency. Study of principles of large-scale design including timbre, texture, meter and rhythm, motive and melody, harmony, and closure. Creative engagement with course content through student repertoire analysis and composition. PREREQ: MUSC185 with grade of C- or better. COREQ: MUSC186. RESTRICTIONS: Must pass department Music Theory Placement Test or Theory Review Class. Offered spring only.
