Explores the significance of gender in educational work. Focus will be on the history of gender arrangements in educational organizations and the formation of gender roles in contemporary American society, particularly in the family, schools, and the economy. Students will examine differential socialization of males and females, ongoing practices in educational organizations that are gender-related and/or gender biased and the convergence of gender, race, and class in educational organizations. This course is cross-listed as EPFA 455, may only be taken once for credit.
