This coure focuses on the study of the agents that pass information from generation to generation. Lectures and hand-on laboratory sessions include bacterial and yeast transformation, plasmid DNA purification, restriction analysis, cloning and expression vectors, end-point polymerase chain reaction(PCR), real time PCR, kinetic analysis of PCR, primer design, molecular yeast genetics, and bioinformatics.
