Prerequisite: None. Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and international music and dance movements. The class format combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body in an aerobic/fitness fashion to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits. Zumba integrates a variety of basic principles from aerobic, interval, and resistance training to maximize caloric output, cardiovascular benefits, and total body toning. The cardio-based dance movements are easy-to-follow steps and combinations. Through the Zumba movements, students will also engage in body sculpting targeting all major muscle groups. No previous dance training is required. [Semesters Offered: Variable]
