Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in NURS 178, NURS 180 and NURS 181; concurrent enrollment in NURS 185T required. This course focuses on common well defined nursing problems concerning infants and children, continues building on the theory obtained in NURS 180, and introduces psychiatric nursing concepts and management of clients and assistive personnel in the LPN working environment. Clinical is arranged at various facilities to provide both observation and the opportunity to increase skills, techniques, and scientific rationales needed to provide safe, basic health care. The student is expected to demonstrate an increasing mastery of skills and concepts necessary to function as an effective practical nurse. This course meets PN curriculum requirements only.
