Prerequisite: None. This course introduces the complex responsibilities for criminal investigation and addresses changes in technology and society that continually present new challenges to investigators, requiring them to be knowledgeable in a wide variety of areas. This session discusses crime scenes, searches and search warrants. The student will explore how physical evidence is obtained, preserved, and forensically compared and tested. A "hand-on" approach allows the student to become thoroughly familiar with some of these techniques.
